국립공주대학교 총장을 역임한 원성수 세종특별자치시 교육감 예비후보가 교육 혁신을 위한 본격적인 행보에 나섰다.
원 예비후보는 오는 3월 18일부터 매주 수요일 오후 2시, 세종 교육의 비전과 현안을 공유하는 ‘미디어 소통데이’를 정례적으로 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 소통 행보는 지난 10여 년간 정체된 세종 교육의 틀을 깨고, 행정수도와 인공지능(AI) 시대에 걸맞은 새로운 교육 패러다임을 제시하겠다는 원 후보의 강력한 의지가 반영된 결과다.

우선 학습 환경 개선을 위해 학급당 학생 수를 20명 내로 감축하여 교사가 개별 학생의 재능을 세밀하게 살필 수 있는 구조를 만들겠다고 공약했다. 또한 세종북부교육지원청을 신설해 교사의 행정 업무를 대폭 줄이고, AI와 교수법 강화를 위한 수준 높은 연수 지원을 약속했다.
