이 예비후보는 지난 13일 선거사무소에서 ‘북구의 미래, 청년과 답하다’라는 주제로 간담회를 열고, 청년들의 취업과 정착 문제에 대해 의견을 청취했다. 아울러 앞으로의 정책 방향에 대해서도 설명했다.
이날 간담회에는 대학생, 직장인, 예비 창업자 등 다양한 청년들이 참석했다. 참석자들은 취업 환경, 창업 지원, 주거 문제 등 현장에서 겪는 어려움과 바람들을 자유롭게 제시했다.
이상길 예비후보는 핵심 공약으로 ‘청년활력도시’ 조성을 내세웠다. 이를 위해 대학과 지역이 협력하는 ‘1대학 1협력사업’ 추진, 청년 문화공간 확대, 동천 청년문화센터와 침산 일대의 청년문화 특화구역 지정 등의 계획을 밝혔다.
또한 일자리 정책으로는 대구 제3산업단지를 로봇·인공지능 실증 선도구역으로 조성하고, AI 전환 기업을 적극 유치해 미래형 일자리를 만들겠다는 구상도 내놓았다.
지역 대학과 연구기관이 참여하는 산학연 협력 체계 구축, 창업 지원 확대, 인턴십과 직무 재교육 프로그램 강화 등도 함께 추진하겠다고 덧붙였다.
이 예비후보는 “청년의 활력이 곧 도시의 경쟁력이 된다”며 “청년들이 머물고 꿈을 펼칠 수 있는 북구를 만들겠다”고 말했다.
