【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=박대기 포항시장 예비후보가 15일 선거사무소 개소식을 열고 포항 발전 비전과 핵심 공약을 공개하며 본격적인 선거 행보에 나섰다.
박 예비후보는 이날 개소식에서 ‘다·뛰·포(다시 뛰자 포항!)’를 선거 슬로건으로 제시하고 지역 산업 구조 전환과 미래 성장 전략을 중심으로 한 정책 방향을 설명했다.
행사에는 이상휘 국회의원과 곽상도 전 국회의원, 이에리사 전 국회의원 등이 참석했으며 시민과 지지자 등 약 1천300명이 행사장을 찾았다. 또 김문수, 나경원, 김은혜 의원은 영상 메시지를 통해 축하 인사를 전했다.
박 예비후보는 이날 핵심 공약으로 포항을 ‘글로벌 SMR 소부장(소재·부품·장비) 허브’로 육성하겠다는 구상을 밝혔다. 그는 “탄소국경세 도입과 산업 구조 변화 속에서 안정적인 무탄소 전력 확보가 중요한 과제가 되고 있다”며 “SMR 산업을 중심으로 포항의 새로운 성장 동력을 만들겠다”고 강조했다.
또 “인접 도시인 경주가 SMR 건설과 운영의 중심 역할을 맡는다면 포항은 소재 가공과 부품 생산·수출 중심지로 기능해야 한다”며 경주와 포항을 잇는 원전 산업 벨트 구축 필요성도 제시했다.
박 예비후보는 “포항의 산업 경쟁력을 한 단계 끌어올리고 미래 에너지 산업을 선도하는 도시로 도약시키겠다”고 밝혔다.

He also suggested the necessity of establishing a nuclear power industry belt connecting Gyeongju and Pohang, stating, “If the neighboring city of Gyeongju takes on the central role in SMR construction and operation, Pohang must function as a hub for material processing, parts production, and export.”
Preliminary Candidate Park stated, “I will elevate Pohang’s industrial competitiveness to the next level and propel it to become a city that leads the future energy industry.”
