대전광역시의회 국민의힘 소속 이한영 의원이 16일 열린 제295회 임시회 본회의에서 자원봉사자들의 헌신과 희생을 존중하고 이들의 활동을 더욱 활성화하기 위한 정책적 지원을 촉구했다.
이 의원은 우리 사회가 위기 상황에 처할 때마다 자원봉사자들이 가장 먼저 나서서 도움을 준다며, 이들이 지역 공동체를 지탱하는 든든한 버팀목임을 강조했다.

이한영 의원은 자원봉사 활동이 봉사자들의 헌신만으로는 지속되기 어렵다면서, 현재 많은 자원봉사자가 교통비, 식비 등의 최소한의 활동 경비마저도 개인 부담하는 현실과 안전 및 보상 체계 부재 문제를 개선해야 한다고 강조했다.
그는 자원봉사 활성화를 위한 정책 방향으로 △자원봉사 활동에 필요한 최소 실비 보전과 안전 지원 기준 마련 △실질적 인센티브 제공 및 사회적 인정 체계 구축 △자원봉사센터와 지역 공동체 조직 간 협력 강화 등을 제안했다.
마지막으로 이 의원은 “자원봉사는 행정이 대신할 수 없는 시민의 자발적 연대이자 공동체 정신의 표현”이라며, 대전시가 자원봉사자의 헌신과 가치를 존중하고 확산하는 데 적극적인 관심과 지원을 기울여야 한다고 당부했다.
