[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 대한민국 딸기 재배의 시작지인 삼랑진의 역사적 의미를 알리고 밀양딸기의 우수성을 홍보하기 위한 제16회 밀양삼랑진 딸기시배지 축제 행사가 오는 21일부터 22일까지 이틀간 삼랑진읍 검세체육공원 일원에서 열린다.
밀양은 1943년 삼랑진에서 국내 최초로 딸기 재배가 시작된 곳이다.
행사장에는 30여 개의 부스가 설치돼 딸기 시배지 역사 전시를 비롯해 체험 프로그램, 농산물 직거래 판매, 먹거리 판매 등 다양한 프로그램이 운영될 예정이다.
특히 '밀양딸기 1943'시배지 역사 전시관에서는 삼랑진에서 시작된 딸기 재배의 역사와 밀양딸기 품종을 소개한다.
캐릭터 '딸기야미'포토존과 퀴즈 이벤트도 마련돼 방문객들이 딸기의 역사와 가치를 재미있게 체험할 수 있도록 구성했다.
체험 프로그램으로는 딸기 떡메치기와 딸기잼 만들기 체험을 비롯해 딸기 컵케이크 만들기, 딸기 비누 만들기 등이 진행된다.
또한 밀양딸기 직거래 판매와 함께 딸기떡, 딸기잼, 딸기라떼, 딸기와인 등 다양한 가공품과 먹거리도 선보일 예정이다.
밀양시 관계자는 "이번 축제를 통해 밀양딸기의 역사와 우수성을 널리 알리고 지역 농가 소득 증대와 지역경제 활성화에도 도움이 되길 기대한다"라며 "많은 시민과 관광객들이 축제장을 찾아 달콤한 밀양딸기의 매력을 즐기길 바란다"라고 전했다.
