[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 경남 고성군의 대표 복합문화공간인 ‘책둠벙도서관’이 16일 특허청으로부터 ‘책둠벙도서관’브랜드에 대한 상표등록증 발급을 최종 완료했다고 밝혔다.
이번 상표등록은 고성군이 보유한 고유의 문화 자산을 보호하고 ‘책둠벙’브랜드가 가진 대외적 신뢰도와 상징성을 법적으로 뒷받침하기 위해 추진됐다.
‘책둠벙도서관’이라는 이름은 고성군이 보유한 국가중요농업유산 제14호이자 세계관개시설물 유산인 450여 개의 둠벙에서 그 이름을 가져왔으며 둠벙이 마을 논 한가운데 있으면서 맑은 물을 간직하며 수많은 생명을 길러내는 ‘생명의 그릇’이며 선조들의 지혜가 담긴 수리시설이다.
이러한 둠벙이 생명을 길러내듯 책을 통해 지식과 꿈을 길러내는 공간임을 표현한 것이다.
책둠벙도서관 로고에 담긴 시각적 상징들은 도서관이 지향하는 핵심 가치를 체계적으로 담아내고 있다.

따라서 고성군은 향후 10년간 ‘책둠벙도서관’명칭에 대한 독점적 사용권을 갖게 됐으며 유사 상표의 침해로부터 브랜드를 보호할 수 있는 법적 근거를 마련했다.
최다원 문화예술과장은 “‘책둠벙도서관’은 고성군의 소중한 문화 자산”이라며 “이번 상표등록을 통해 브랜드를 안정적으로 보호하고 군민들에게 더욱 사랑받는 문화공간으로 발전시키겠다”고 말했다.
