대전시가 원도심 활성화를 위해 문화시설을 대폭 확대하며 '예술로 숨쉬는 도시' 비전을 제시했다. 신도심 중심의 문화 불균형을 해소하고 시민 일상 속 예술 향유를 목표로 3대 특화 공간을 조성하는 계획이다.
대전시는 17일 이장우 시장 주재 브리핑에서 중구 대종로 대전창작센터를 리모델링한 '최종태전시관'이 4월 개관한다고 밝혔다.
한국 현대조각 거장 최종태 작가의 조각·판화·파스텔화 등 300여 점 작품과 아카이브를 선보이는 이 공간은 국가문화유산 건물을 활용해 역사와 현대미술을 연결한다.
옛 테미도서관(연면적 1,300㎡)을 복합문화공간으로 탈바꿈한 '대전테미문학관'도 총 98억 원 투입해 3월 27일 문을 연다. 상설·기획전시실, 문학콘서트홀, 세미나실을 갖추고 시민 참여 프로그램으로 문학 체험을 강조했다.
동구 소제중앙문화공원에는 158억 원 규모 '이종수도예관'이 2026년 9월 착공, 2027년 10월 개관을 앞두고 있다. 신진 도예가 스튜디오와 시민 체험 프로그램으로 도예 창작 허브 역할을 할 예정이다.
