이재명 대통령이 20일 '2026 밀라노·코르티나다페초 동계 패럴림픽' 한국 선수단 격려 오찬에서 "여러분이 흘린 땀·열정이 대한민국 장애인 스포츠 발전으로 이어질 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 했다.
청와대에 따르면 이 대통령은 이날 낮 청와대 영빈관에서 열린 오찬에서 "역대 최고 성적을 축하하고 장애인들이 스포츠를 통해 자신·성취감을 고취하고 건강하게 생활할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "대한민국을 대표해 한계를 뛰어넘는 도전으로 국민·전 세계인들에 뜨거운 감동·자부심을 안겨준 여러분 정말 수고 많았다"며 "모두 불굴 투혼이 어떤 건지를 국민들에 생생하게 보여줬으며 선수단이 이번에 선서한 그 감동을 오래도록 기억할 것"이라고 했다.
또 감독·코치진·트레이너·의료진·조리사 등 코칭 스태프·선수단 지원 인력에게 "모두 정말 수고 많았고, 여러분 노고 덕에 선수단이 역대 최고 훌륭한 성과를 낼 수 있었다"고 했다.
이어 "다시 한번 대한민국 선수단 여러분 헌신·노고에 감사드린다"며 "국민과 함께 여러분 더 큰 도전을 응원하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
한국 선수단은 이번에 금메달 2·은메달 4·동메달 1개를 획득하면서 종합 13위 성적을 낸 가운데 역대 최고 성적을 기록했다.
