【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군은 20일 옥천가양복합문화센터에서 국회 교육위원회, 옥천교육지원청과 함께 ‘독서국가 선도도시 옥천’ 조성을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
협약식에는 김영호 국회 교육위원장과 박정애 옥천교육지원청 교육장을 비롯해 군 관계자, 유치원·어린이집·학교·도서관 관계자 등 40여 명이 참석했다.
이번 협약은 ‘독서국가 교육 대전환 프로젝트’와 연계해 문해력과 사고력을 키우는 독서교육을 지역 차원에서 추진하고, 영유아부터 노년까지 전 생애에 걸친 독서교육 선도모델을 구축하기 위해 마련됐다.
협약에는 학교·공공·작은도서관과 교육·문화·복지시설 간 자료 및 프로그램 연계, 상호대차와 공동행사 등 협력체계 구축이 담겼다. 또한 공공도서관 확충과 작은도서관 지원을 통해 생활권 독서거점을 확대하고, AI 기반 맞춤형 리터러시와 생애주기별 독서 가이드를 도입하는 내용도 포함됐다. 이와 함께 교과 연계 독서교육과 온마을 독서체험, ‘정지용 향수 그리고 노벨 문학상 프로젝트’ 등 다양한 독서문화 사업도 추진할 계획이다.
군은 올해 10월 옥천군민도서관 재개관을 앞두고 있으며, 공공·작은도서관 운영과 자료 확충, 생애주기별 독서교육 및 독서문화 행사를 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
