이재명 대통령이 24일 "중동 전쟁 충격이 갈수록 커지는 상황에서 전시 추경 편성·처리는 빠르면 빠를수록 효과가 배가 될 것"이라고 했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 청와대에서 열린 제11회 국무회의 모두 발언에서 "지금은 재정을 아끼는 것보다 어렵고 필요한 곳에 신속·효과적 투입하는 게 뭣보다 중요하며 정부는 신속한 추경 편성을 해주길 바란다"며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "국민 체감 원칙 아래 고유가 부담 완화·민생 안정·산업 피해 최소화·공급망 안정·지방 경기 활성화를 주 목표로 꼼꼼히 세부 내용을 설계해 주기 바란다"며 "미리 전체 규모를 정해 놓고 각 사업을 억지로 끼워 맞추기보다 실제 현장 필요를 충실히 반영한 적정 수준으로 편성해야겠다"고 했다.
또 "민생·경제 산업 전반에 발생할지 모를 중대 위기에 대처해야 하며 정부 차원 비상 대응 체계를 선제 가동해야겠다"며 "중동 전쟁 확대 장기화로 원유·천연가스 수급 불안이 커지고 있고, 국제에너지기구는 이번 사태가 역사상 최악 에너지 안보 위협이라며 세계 경제에 미칠 충격을 경고하고 있다"고 했다.
