[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 부원 스마트 도시개발사업이 농업용수로 이설공사를 시작으로 기반시설 공사에 본격 착수했다고 24일 밝혔다.
이 사업은 NHN의 데이터센터 유치 계획에 따라 시작됐으나 2023년 11월 데이터센터 건립이 무산됐다.
김해시는 목적사업 이행 불가능에 따른 도시개발사업을 취소하는 청문 시행과 대안 마련을 다각도로 검토했다.
그 결과 사업 대상지가 상업지역, 준주거지역, 김해대로 고속도로에 둘러싸여 개발 필요성이 높고 계획적 개발과 도시경관 개선이 필요한 지역으로 장기간 방치할 경우 도시미관 저해와 개별 개발행위 난개발 우려에 따라 쾌적한 도시환경 조성과 시민 편의를 위해 신속한 사업 추진을 결정했다.
부원 스마트지구는 경전철 김해시청 역세권과 김해대로의 우수한 교통여건을 바탕으로 김해시청, 제2청사, 생활밀착형체육관, 한전이 위치한 행정업무 밀집지역에 속한다.
