김돈곤 청양군수가 민선 7·8기 동안 축적해 온 정책과 기반시설이 본격적인 성과 단계에 들어섰다며, 앞으로 2~3년이 청양의 향후 진로를 가를 중요한 시기가 될 것이라고 밝혔다.
그는 지난 23일 군청 상황실에서 열린 주간업무계획 보고회에서, 지금은 개별 사업의 준공이나 유치 성과를 넘어 이를 어떻게 유기적으로 연결해 운영하느냐가 핵심 과제가 되고 있다고 강조했다.
청양군이 내세우는 변화의 기반은 이미 여러 축에서 구체화되고 있다. 지난해 5월 문을 연 충남사회적경제혁신타운에는 18개 기업이 입주해 충남 사회적경제 거점 기능을 맡고 있고, 충남산림자원연구소는 2030년 준공을 목표로 기본계획 수립이 진행 중이다. 최근 문을 연 충남기후환경교육원도 지역의 새 자산으로 꼽힌다.
