이재명 대통령이 25일 마약상 박왕열(48)의 한국 송환 관련해 "대한국민을 해치는 자는 지구 끝까지 추적해서라도 반드시 잡는다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 엑스(X·구 트위터)에 박 씨 송환 관련 보도를 공유하며 이같이 적었다.
그러면서 "한·필리핀 정의를 위한 협력에 대한민국 국민을 대표해 페르디난드 마르코스 주니어 필리핀 대통령께 깊이 감사드린다"고 했다.
이 대통령은 지난 3월 3일 한·필리핀 정상회담에서 마르코스 대통령에게 직접 박 씨의 임시 인도를 요청한 바 있다.
한편 박 씨 송환 관련해 강유정 청와대 대변인은 이날 오전 서면 브리핑을 통해 "박 씨의 압송 즉시 모든 범죄 행위를 낱낱이 밝히고 공범·범죄수익을 끝까지 추적해 엄정 단죄하겠다"며 "향후 초국가 범죄에 무관용 원칙으로 대응하고 범죄자가 지구상 어디도 숨을 곳이 없도록 국제 공조망을 더 촘촘히 구축하겠다"고 전했다
