지원 대상은 입학일부터 신청일까지 계속해 음성군에 주민등록을 두고 있는 입학생(외국인 포함)이다.
신청은 3월 30일부터 4월 17일까지 정부24를 통한 온라인 접수나 주소지 읍·면 행정복지센터 방문을 통해 가능하다. 지원금은 1인당 10만 원씩 지급되며, 지역 경제 활성화를 위해 6월 중 지역화폐인 음성행복페이로 지급될 예정이다.
이 사업은 2022년 초등학교 입학생을 대상으로 처음 시행된 이후 학생과 학부모들로부터 높은 호응을 얻으며, 지난 2024년부터 지원 대상을 유치원과 중·고등학교 입학생까지 확대해 운영하고 있다.
