The first program is "I Am a Royal Chef – Old Stories Learned Through Taste," which will run every Saturday from April 4 to May 2.
[Break News Yangju = Reporter Kim Wan-young] The Yangju Municipal Hoeamsa Temple Site Museum is operating the 2026 "Gyeonggi Shared School" program in cooperation with the Dongducheon and Yangju Offices of Education.
The "Gyeonggi Shared School" is an out-of-school platform linked with the local community that provides student-tailored education and diverse learning opportunities; it is being promoted as an experience-oriented program that complements public education.
This program consists of a total of five types and is designed as experiential content that integrates various themes such as the history and figures of Hoeamsa Temple Site, nature, food, and museum merchandise. Through this, the museum plans to strengthen its out-of-school history and culture education functions and expand opportunities for student-participatory learning.
Each program is operated in two sessions, and the schedules have been staggered to allow more students to participate. The first program is "I Am a Royal Chef – Old Stories Learned Through Taste," which will run every Saturday from April 4 to May 2. This cooking experience program focuses on the food culture found in historical records related to the Hoeamsa Temple Site and is designed to facilitate an easy understanding of traditional culture. Following this, a museum merchandise design program will be held in May, and a national heritage promotional content creation program will take place in June.
Applications for participation can be submitted through the official website of the "Gyeonggi Sharing School."
An official from the Yangju City Hoeamsa Temple Site Museum stated, "We have structured the program so that students can naturally encounter history and culture in their daily lives," adding, "We expect that experience-based education will enhance learning effectiveness."
Meanwhile, the museum plans to continue operating "Gyeonggi Sharing School" programs utilizing the historical and cultural resources of the Hoeamsa Temple Site throughout the second half of the year.
