이재명 대통령이 25일 한국의 첫 독자 개발 전투기 KF-21 양산 1호기 출고식에서 “자주 국방 위용을 떨치게 됐다”고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 경남 사천시 한국항공우주산업(KAI)에서 열린 출고식 격려사에서 “마침내 대한민국은 땅·바다에 이어 하늘에서까지 우리 기술·의지로 평화를 지키는 무기를 보유하게 됐다”며 이같이 말했다. 초음속 전투기 개발 착수 후 25년 만이다.
그러면서 “우리 힘으로 우리 하늘을 지킬 우리 전투기가 드디어 실전 배치 준비를 마쳤다”며 “여러분 앞에 당당히 서 있는 이 전투기는 반세기 넘게 꿈꿔온 자주 국방의 뜨거운 염원을 담고 있다”고 했다.
