이날 준공식에는 최재형 보은군수와 윤대성 보은군의회 의장을 비롯해 도·군의원, 유관기관 관계자, 농업인 단체장 등 100여 명이 참석해 준공을 축하했다.
이번에 조성된 귀농·귀촌 스마트 경영실습농장은 귀농·귀촌인과 청년농업인의 안정적인 정착을 지원하기 위한 시설로, 총사업비 77억 6500만 원(특별조정교부금 37억 5000만 원, 국비 6억 900만 원, 도비 6100만 원, 군비 33억 4500만 원)이 투입됐다.
시설은 연면적 8,074㎡ 규모에 스마트온실 3개 동으로 구성됐으며, 과채류 실습농장 2개 동과 양념채소 실습농장 1개 동으로 운영된다. 과채류 농장에서는 고추·가지 등을, 양념채소 농장에서는 쪽파·갓 등을 재배할 수 있다.
특히 임대형과 교육형이 결합된 구조로 조성돼, 귀농·귀촌인과 청년농업인이 실습과 영농을 병행하며 현장 경험을 쌓을 수 있도록 한 점이 특징이다.
군은 오는 4월 중 임대농을 모집하고 6월부터 본격 운영에 들어갈 예정이며, 향후 스마트농업 교육과 연계한 실습 프로그램 확대와 임대형 스마트팜 운영을 통해 지역 농업 경쟁력 강화에 나설 계획이다.
