최근 지역의 최대 화두인 대구경북 행정통합에 대해서도 낙관적인 전망을 내놨다. 조 시장은 “통합은 경산에 상당한 시너지를 가져다줄 것”이라며 “경산은 이미 모든 인프라가 갖춰진 만큼 통합의 중심축 역할을 할 것”이라고 자신했다.
