이번 사업은 신둔역과 성남~장호원 간 자동차 전용도로 개통 이후 도암나들목 이용 차량 증가로 발생한 교통 정체를 해소하기 위해 추진됐다.
시는 총사업비 270억 원을 투입해 2.5km 구간을 기존 2차로에서 4차로로 확장했으며 2022년 착공해 올해 3월 공사를 완료했다.
