수학감동학교는 기존 50교 규모의 수학채움학교를 개편한 사업으로, 올해부터 ▲초 33교 ▲중 22교 ▲고 21교 등 총 76교로 운영된다.
학생이 주도적으로 수학활동에 참여하도록 지원하고, 학교급별 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 수학학습을 통해 수학적 사고력과 정의적 역량을 함께 기르는 데 목적이 있다.
학생 참여형 수학활동을 중심으로 생활 속 수학 경험을 확대하고, 수학에 대한 긍정적 인식과 학습 동기를 높이는 데 중점을 둔다. 특히 <생생수학통> 프로그램을 비롯해 수업·생활·공간 전반에 수학 요소를 연계하는 생활밀착형 수학문화 조성을 추진한다.
또한 수학동아리 운영, 탐구·프로젝트 중심 수업, 수학클리닉 및 또래 멘토링 등 맞춤형 학습 지원을 통해 학생들의 수리력 향상과 성공 경험을 지원하고, 학교 간 우수 사례 공유를 통해 충북형 수학모델학교로 발전시켜 나갈 계획이다.
이와 함께, 수학감동학교 운영의 내실화를 위해 담당 교사 대상 워크숍과 컨설팅, 성과공유회 등을 연계 운영하며 현장 지원을 강화할 방침이다.
그중 하나로 도교육청은 26일(목) 충청북도환경교육센터에서 수학감동학교 담당자 워크숍을 개최했다. 이번 워크숍에서는 2026년 운영 방향 안내와 기 운영교 사례 공유가 이루어졌으며, 학교급별 특성을 반영한 학생 주도 수학활동 사례가 소개됐다.
이어 학교급별 분임 협의를 통해 2026년 운영 계획을 공유하고, 자연과학교육원 및 교육지원청 수학교육 담당 교육전문직원이 진행자로 참여해 단위학교의 애로사항에 대한 상호 컨설팅과 개선 방안을 논의했다.
김영순 창의특수교육과장은 “수학감동학교를 통해 학생들이 수학을 즐겁게 배우고 성공 경험을 쌓으며 자신감을 키울 수 있도록 지원하겠다.”라며 “생활 속에서 생각하는 힘을 기르는 수학 교육이 학교 현장에 정착되도록 지속적으로 지원해 나가겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
