도성훈 인천교육감, ‘AI 시대 교사 역량 강화 및 양성 체계 개선’ 제안

(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 지난 26일, 도성훈 인천교육감이 윈덤 그랜드 부산에서 열린 제107회 대한민국교육감협의회 총회에서 ‘AI 시대 교사 역량 강화 및 양성 체계 개선’을 제안했다고 밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따른면, 최근 AI와 디지털 기술의 급격한 발전으로 각 시·도교육청이 현직 교원을 대상으로 디지털·AI 역량 강화를 위한 연수와 지원을 확대하고 있으나, 이러한 노력만으로는 변화의 속도를 충분히 따라가기에는 한계가 있다는 현장의 의견이 이어지고 있다. 

이에 도 교육감은 “교사 양성 단계에서부터 미래교육 역량을 갖춘 교원이 배출될 수 있도록 보다 장기적이며 근본적인 체계 개선이 필요하다”고 밝혔다.

이어 “이러한 방향을 실현하기 위해서는 현직 교원의 역량 강화와 교대·사대 교육과정, 임용시험의 평가 방식도 미래교육의 흐름에 맞게 점진적으로 검토·보완해 나갈 필요가 있다”며 대한민국교육감협의회를 중심으로 관련 사항을 함께 논의하고, 중장기적인 관점에서 개선 방안을 모색해 나가자고 제안했다.

도 교육감의 이 같은 제안에 대해 대한민국교육감협의회에 참석한 시·도 교육감들은 깊은 공감을 표하며, 향후 협의회 차원에서 중앙정부와 긴밀히 소통하며 구체적인 개선 방안을 협의해 나가기로 뜻을 모았다.

이날 총회에서는 아동학대 사안에 대한 교육감 의견의 실효성 보장, 고등학교 이하 학교법인 ‘해산지원제도’ 마련을 위한 교육부 주관 협의체 구성 및 전담부서 신설 건의, 도시가스안전관리자 겸직 금지 관련 ‘도시가스사업법 시행령’ 개정 건의, 교육부의 ‘정부책임형 유보통합’ 중장기 로드맵 제시, 자동차보험 약관 대인배상 지급기준 개정 제안, ‘도로교통법’ 개정을 통한 학생 통학차량 버스정류장 정차 요청 등 주요 현안도 함께 논의됐다.
