제6회 기술교류 네트워킹 데이 개최…
포스코퓨처엠·머크사 참여로 글로벌 생태계 확장
대전광역시가 급변하는 글로벌 배터리 시장 환경에 대응하고 지역 기업들의 기술 경쟁력을 높이기 위해 산·학·연 전문가들과 힘을 모았다.
대전시는 27일 D-유니콘라운지에서 ‘제6회 이차전지산업 기술교류 네트워킹 데이’를 개최하며 지역 이차전지 산업의 협력 생태계를 한층 강화했다.
이번 행사에는 대전시 이차전지산업 기업협의회 소속 기업들을 포함해 대학과 연구소 관계자 50여 명이 참석하여 최신 산업 트렌드를 공유하고 실질적인 협업 가능성을 타진했다.
특히 국내에서 유일하게 양극재와 음극재를 동시에 생산하는 ㈜포스코퓨처엠의 남상철 양극재연구센터장이 강연자로 나서 주목을 받았다. 남 센터장은 미래 이차전지 소재 개발 전략을 심도 있게 짚어주며 참석자들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.
글로벌 기업과의 파트너십 기회도 구체화됐다. 350년 역사의 독일 과학기술 기업 머크(Merck)사는 신소재 및 배터리 혁신 연구를 지원하는 ‘머크-KAIST 어플리케이션 앤 익스피리언스 랩’을 소개했다.
아울러 대전시는 최근 충북대학교 등 4개 기관과 손잡고 추진 중인 ‘이차전지 학연 협력 플랫폼 구축 사업’에 대해서도 상세히 안내했다.
이를 통해 지역 기업들은 단순한 정보 교류를 넘어 기술 이전과 배터리 분석·평가 서비스 등 공공 인프라를 활용한 실무적인 기술 지원을 받을 수 있게 될 전망이다.
유세종 대전시 미래전략산업실장은 “글로벌 배터리 시장의 기술 패권 경쟁이 격화되는 시점에서 독보적인 기술 주도권을 확보하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”며, “이번 네트워킹 데이가 대전의 이차전지 산업이 한 단계 도약하는 든든한 밑거름이 되길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

Daejeon Metropolitan City has joined forces with experts from industry, academia, and research institutes to respond to the rapidly changing global battery market environment and enhance the technological competitiveness of local companies.
On the 27th, Daejeon City held the "6th Secondary Battery Industry Technology Exchange Networking Day" at the D-Unicorn Lounge, further strengthening the cooperative ecosystem of the local secondary battery industry.
Approximately 50 people attended the event, including representatives from universities and research institutes, as well as companies affiliated with the Daejeon Secondary Battery Industry Business Council. They shared the latest industry trends and explored practical collaboration possibilities.
In particular, Nam Sang-cheol, Head of the Cathode Material Research Center at POSCO FutureM—the only company in Korea to simultaneously produce both cathode and anode materials—did a keynote speech, drawing significant attention. Plans for partnerships with global companies have also materialized. Merck, a German science and technology company with a 350-year history, introduced the "Merck-KAIST Applications and Experience Lab," which supports research on new materials and battery innovation.
In addition, Daejeon City provided detailed information on the "Secondary Battery Academic-Research Cooperation Platform Establishment Project," which is currently being pursued in partnership with four institutions, including Chungbuk National University.
Through this initiative, local companies are expected to receive practical technical support utilizing public infrastructure—such as technology transfer and battery analysis and evaluation services—going beyond simple information exchange.
