충주 여성문화회관, 복합문화공간으로 새롭게 개관

【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주시는 27일 여성문화회관 대강당에서 여성의 사회참여 확대와 가족친화 문화 조성을 위한 거점 공간으로 새롭게 단장한 충주여성문화회관 개관식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 개관식에는 지역 유관 기관·단체 관계자와 시민 200여 명이 참석한 가운데 경과보고, 기념사 및 축사, 시설 관람 순으로 진행됐으며, 여성문화회관의 새 출발을 함께 축하하는 자리로 마련됐다.

새롭게 개관한 여성문화회관은 기존 여성역량 강화와 사회참여 지원 기능을 유지하면서, 가족이 함께 이용할 수 있는 복합문화공간으로 기능을 확대했다.

특히 실내 어린이놀이시설과 가족놀이터를 비롯해 공유주방, 공유오피스, 다목적실, 스포츠교실, 공유카페 등 다양한 공간을 조성해 시민 누구나 편리하게 이용할 수 있도록 했다.

손한옥 충주시여성단체협의장은 “여성문화회관이 지역 여성들의 소통과 성장의 장이자 다양한 공익활동이 이루어지는 거점 공간이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

김진석 충주시장 권한대행은 “여성문화회관이 세대와 계층을 아우르는 열린 공간으로 자리잡아 지역 공동체 활성화에 기여하길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 시민 누구나 찾고 배우며 소통할 수 있는 공간으로 운영될 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램을 지속 발굴하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 충주여성문화회관은 3월 초 시범운영을 거쳐 시설을 보완한 뒤 상반기 정규·특별강좌 9개 과정 180명의 수강생 모집을 완료했으며, 4월부터 다양한 교육·문화 프로그램을 본격 운영할 예정이다.
