대전의 근현대사를 품고 있는 원도심 테미공원 자락에 시민들을 위한 열린 문학 쉼터가 마침내 그 모습을 드러냈다.
대전문화재단은 27일, 도서관과 기록관, 박물관의 기능을 하나로 묶은 ‘라키비움’ 형태의 복합문화공간인 ‘대전테미문학관’의 개관식을 성황리에 개최하고 본격적인 운영에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.
이날 개관식은 이장우 대전광역시장을 비롯해 지역 문학계를 이끌어온 문인 등 내빈 300여 명이 참석한 가운데 축하의 장이 펼쳐졌다.
특히 인공지능(AI) 기술로 재현된 단재 신채호 선생과 백석 시인이 시공간을 초월해 전하는 특별 축사는 참석자들에게 깊은 울림과 신선한 문화적 경험을 선사하며 눈길을 끌었다.
새롭게 문을 연 대전테미문학관은 1970년대 후기 모더니즘 건축의 미학적 특징인 절제된 비례미와 리듬감을 그대로 살려 리모델링되었다.
연면적 1,300㎡, 지하 1층에서 지상 3층 규모로 조성된 이곳은 과거 '테미도서관'으로서 시민들이 공유했던 '책의 기억'을 현대적인 감각의 전시실, 세미나실, 문학콘서트홀로 재해석하여 도심 속 문화 힐링 거점으로 탈바꿈했다.
내부 콘텐츠 역시 알차게 구성되었다. 상설전시 ‘대전문학아카이브 冊’은 한글 자모 ‘ㄱ’부터 ‘ㅎ’까지의 키워드를 통해 대전 문학의 발자취를 입체적으로 조명하며, 기획전시 ‘경계 위의 문장: 신채호와 백석, 유랑의 기록’은 두 거장의 삶과 문학 세계를 깊이 있게 다룬다.
또한, 오는 4월 3일에는 대전 최초의 순수 시 동인지인 <동백>의 가치를 되짚어보는 문학 세미나가 열려 개관의 의미를 더할 예정이다.
백춘희 대전문화재단 대표이사는 “옛 도서관의 추억이 깃든 이 공간이 이제는 대전 문학의 새로운 미래를 써 내려가는 문화 명소가 될 것”이라며, “원도심의 활력을 불어넣고 시민 누구나 문학적 사유를 즐길 수 있는 열린 공간으로 운영해 나가겠다”고 전했다.
