충남 아산시의회가 딱딱한 관공서의 이미지를 벗고 시민과 예술이 어우러지는 문화 공간으로 탈바꿈했다.
아산시의회는 청사 내 비어있던 복도 공간을 활용해 지역 작가들을 위한 전시장을 마련하면서, 시민들에게는 일상 속 휴식을, 예술인들에게는 소중한 발표의 장을 제공하게 된 것이다.
아산시의회는 30일, 한국고불서화협회와 ‘작품 전시 협력’을 체결하고 본격적인 전시 운영에 들어갔다. 이번 프로젝트는 지역 예술 생태계에 활력을 불어넣고, 의회 문턱을 낮추어 시민들과 더욱 가깝게 소통하려는 취지에서 기획되었다.
전시가 펼쳐지는 곳은 의회 청사 4층 복도의 유휴공간이다. 자칫 무미건조할 수 있는 통로가 지역 예술가들의 혼이 담긴 작품들로 채워지면서 생동감 넘치는 문화 통로로 변모했다. 특히 한국고불서화협회는 지역 문화 발전을 기원하며 수준 높은 서예 및 회화 작품들을 기꺼이 내놓아 전시의 질을 높였다.
의회는 앞으로 이 공간을 일회성 행사에 그치지 않고 지속적인 상설 전시장으로 운영할 방침이다. 분기마다 사진, 서예, 회화 등 시민들이 편안하게 공감할 수 있는 다양한 장르의 작품 15~18점을 엄선해 교체 전시함으로써 방문객들에게 매번 새로운 볼거리를 선사할 계획이다.
