【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구동부교육지원청이 31일 대구효신초등학교에서 ‘효신초 그린스마트스쿨(공간재구조화) 사업’ 준공 기념식을 열고, 활동 중심의 미래형 교육공간 완공을 공식적으로 알렸다.
이번 사업은 1979년 개교 이후 47년 만에 진행된 대대적인 교육환경 개선 사업이다.
지상 4층, 연면적 6,018㎡ 규모로 총 112억 원이 투입됐다. 공사는 2025년 2월에 시작해 2026년 2월에 마무리됐다.
기념식에는 강은희 대구시교육감을 비롯해 교육공동체가 함께 모여 새로운 출발을 축하했다.
효신초 재구조화 사업에서는 사전기획 단계부터 학생, 학부모, 교직원이 함께 참여해 학교 특성을 살린 설계가 이뤄졌다. 특히 채광과 단열을 강화하고, 친환경 자재를 사용해 에너지효율 1등급을 획득했다. 쾌적한 학습 환경을 위해 공기질 관리 설비도 추가됐다.
교실과 특별실은 용도에 맞게 다시 배치해 수업 활용도를 높였으며, 유치원과 늘봄교실 등 돌봄 공간도 함께 개선했다. 각 층에는 전시와 휴식이 가능한 공간을 조성해 학생들이 주도적으로 활동할 수 있도록 했다.
도서관에는 우물천장과 계단식 좌석을 도입해, 토론과 독서가 모두 가능한 복합 공간으로 탈바꿈했다.
강은희 대구시교육감은 “미래지향적이고 창의적으로 바뀐 학교 공간에서 아이들이 저마다의 꿈을 마음껏 펼쳐 나가길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
