<브레이크뉴스 횡성 = 김일웅 기자> 횡성군 공근면 농업의 지도를 바꿀 최첨단 농산물 유통 허브가 마침내 베일을 벗었다.
공근농업협동조합은 2일 오전 10시 30분, 공근 농업의 현대화와 유통 혁신의 전초기지가 될 ‘공근농협 농산물 유통센터’ 준공식을 성황리에 개최하고 본격적인 운영에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.

이날 공근면 유통센터 현장에서 열린 준공식에는 김명기 횡성군수, 표한상 횡성군의회 의장 등 지역 핵심 인사들은 물론, 농협중앙회 정승일 상무, 김병용 강원지역본부장과 전국의 농협 조합장들까지 대거 참석해 자리를 빛냈다. 약 200여 명의 조합원과 내빈이 모인 가운데, 행사는 활기찬 식전 공연을 시작으로 경과보고, 감사패 전달, 기념사 및 테이프 커팅식 순으로 내실 있게 치러졌다.
이번에 새롭게 문을 연 유통센터는 지난 2023년 농촌자원복합산업화 공모사업에 당당히 선정되며 건립의 첫발을 뗐다. 단순한 보관 창고를 넘어, 최신식 선별 및 보관 설비를 완벽하게 구축해 농산물의 상품성을 극대화하고 유통 단계를 획기적으로 축소한 것이 특징이다.

군은 이번 유통센터 가동을 통해 지역 농산물의 압도적인 시장 경쟁력을 확보하는 것은 물론, 실질적인 농가 소득 증대와 지역 경제 전반에 활력을 불어넣을 것으로 강하게 기대하고 있다.
