[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 고성군과 무학그룹이 1일 고성읍 기월리 147-5일원에서 고성문화예술전시관 기공식을 갖고 전시관 건립의 본격적인 시작을 알렸다.
이번 기공식은 지역 문화예술 발전과 군민의 문화 향유 기회 확대를 위한 중요한 출발점으로 마련됐다.
고성문화예술전시관은 유네스코 세계문화유산 송학동고분군과의 조화를 고려한 디자인으로 건립되며, 최신 전시 시설을 갖춘 문화공간으로 조성될 예정이다.
완공 이후에는 지역 예술인의 창작 활동을 지원하고, 군민들이 수준 높은 전시를 즐길 수 있는 열린 문화공간으로 활용된다.
이날 기공식에는 전시관 건립 후 기부를 약속한 무학그룹 최재호 회장과 고성군 관계자, 전시관 건립추진위원회, 기관·사회단체장, 지역 문화예술단체 대표, 군민 등 100여 명이 했다.
참석자들은 전시관 건립이 고성군의 문화적 위상을 높이고, 지역민의 삶의 질 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대감을 나타냈다.
무학그룹 최재호 회장은 기념사에서 “아버지 고 최위승 무학 명예회장의 유지를 받들어, 이제야 첫 삽을 뜨는 전시관이 문화와 예술을 사랑하고 고성사랑을 전할 수 있게 되어 더욱 의미가 새롭다”며, “세계유산인 송학동 고분군을 디자인한 멋진 전시관을 지어 드리게 되어 기쁘고, 고성이 앞으로도 더욱 발전되기를 바란다“고 밝혔다.
한편, 고성문화예술전시관은 무학그룹이 건립 후 고성군에 기부채납하는 방식으로 조성되며, 향후 다양한 전시와 문화행사가 가능한 공간으로 운영될 계획이다. 전시관은 지상 3층, 연면적 약 2,934㎡ 규모로 건립되며 2027년 상반기 완공을 목표로 하고 있다.
