이번 전면적인 새 단장은 지난해 4월 강남동 행정복지센터가 춘천센트럴타워푸르지오 상가동으로 자리를 옮기면서 생긴 유휴 공간을 어르신들을 위한 복지 시설로 환원하기 위해 전격 추진됐다. 총사업비 12억 4,000만 원이 과감하게 투입됐으며, 연면적 3,389㎡에 달하는 넓은 공간이 어르신 친화적으로 전면 재구성됐다.
