[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산을 사랑하는 청년과 대학생 300명이 2일 박형준 부산시장에 대한 공개 지지를 선언했다.
이들은 이날 부산시의회 브리핑룸에서 기자회견을 열고 “지난 5년간 박형준 시장은 조용히 청년의 무대를 넓혀왔다”며 “동백패스로 생활비 부담을 줄이고, 주거비를 낮추며, 취업뿐 아니라 창업의 꿈도 꿀 수 있는 도시를 만들어줬다”고 밝혔다.
청년들은 “지금 부산은 전 세계 관광객으로 가득한 도시가 됐고, 바닷가 맛집에서 아르바이트하는 유학생의 모습에서도 세계가 부산을 사랑하는 것을 느낀다”며 “청년에게 필요한 것은 정해진 자리가 아니라 자유롭게 선택하고 실패해도 다시 도전할 수 있는 무대”라고 강조했다.
또한 “서울에서만 가능했던 공연과 전시를 이제 부산에서도 직접 즐길 수 있게 됐다”며 “이는 단순한 통계가 아니라 부산에서 터전을 만들어가는 청년들의 실제 일상 변화”라고 평가했다.
부산사랑청년대학생은 부산 글로벌허브도시 특별법의 국회 통과가 지연되고 있다는 점도 지적했다. “부산 시민 160만 명이 서명하고 박형준 시장이 삭발로 호소했지만, 법안 발의 후 2년이 지나도록 진전이 없다”며 “특별법이 통과된다면 청년이 글로벌 기업과 투자자들이 함께하는 세계 무대 부산을 경험할 수 있을 것”이라고 주장했다. 이어 “더불어민주당이 지방선거 셈법으로 법안을 보류하며 부산 청년의 시간과 기회를 빼앗고 있다”고 비판했다.
이들은 “박형준 시장은 대기업만이 정답이라 강요하지 않고, 다양한 꿈을 펼칠 수 있는 무대를 만들어준 리더”라며 “청년이 꿈을 찾는 도시, 세계가 사랑하는 도시 부산은 박형준 시장과 함께여야 한다는 확신으로 지지를 선언한다”고 밝혔다.

Three hundred Busan college students and young residents announced on April 2 their public endorsement of Mayor Park Heong-joon.
They held a press conference at the Busan City Council briefing room that day, stating, “Over the past five years, Mayor Park Heong-joon has quietly expanded opportunities for young people,” and added, “Through the Dongbaek Pass, he has reduced living and housing costs, creating a city where youth can pursue not only employment but also their entrepreneurial dreams.”
They added that today’s Busan has become a city “filled with international visitors and youthful energy,” citing scenes of foreign students working part-time along its beaches and bustling commercial districts. “What young people need is not a predetermined place,” they emphasized, “but a larger stage where they can freely choose their path, fail, and rise again.”
The group also highlighted how Busan’s cultural landscape has evolved. “Performances and exhibitions once limited to Seoul can now be enjoyed here,” they said. “This change isn’t just reflected in statistics—it’s part of our daily lives as young people building our future in Busan.”
At the same time, the statement expressed regret over the delayed passage of the *Special Act for Busan Global Hub City* in the National Assembly. “Despite 1.6 million citizen signatures and Mayor Park’s desperate plea through a head-shaving protest, the bill has seen no progress two years since its introduction,” they said. “If enacted, the law would allow us to meet a truly global Busan, a city where young people can challenge major enterprises and engage with investors and entrepreneurs from around the world.” The group criticized the Democratic Party, arguing that “its political calculations ahead of local elections are depriving Busan’s youth of their time and opportunities.”
Concluding their statement, they described Mayor Park as “a leader who does not force young people to follow a single path to success but creates spaces for all dreams to flourish.” They declared their support “with the conviction that a city where youth can find their dreams and a city loved by the world must be shaped together with Mayor Park Heong-joon.”
