경기도재향군인회 여성회가 새로운 리더십 출범을 계기로 지역사회 봉사와 안보 의식 확산에 나서며 도약을 선언했다.
여성회는 지난 4월 2일 수원보훈교육연구원에서 ‘제28차 정기총회 및 제9대·제10대 여성회장 이·취임식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 향군 임원을 비롯해 각 시·군 회장과 여성회원 등 다수의 내빈이 참석해 자리를 함께했다.

행사는 국민의례를 시작으로 공로휘장 및 공로패 수여, 회기 이양, 격려사, 이임사, 취임사, 축사 순으로 진행됐으며, 엄숙함과 활기가 어우러진 분위기 속에서 치러졌다.
이임하는 이숙종 회장은 재임 기간 동안 여성회의 조직력을 강화하고 지역사회 봉사활동을 활성화한 공로를 인정받아 상급회 공로휘장을 수여받았다.
참석자들은 그간의 헌신과 노고에 깊은 감사의 박수를 보냈다.
이어 제10대 회장으로 취임한 송진화 회장은 취임사를 통해 향후 운영 방향을 제시했다.
송 회장은 “회원 간 화합과 단결을 바탕으로 지역사회와 함께하는 봉사와 안보의 가치를 실천하는 여성회로 더욱 발전시켜 나가겠다”고 강조하며 강한 의지를 밝혔다.

이날 행사에서는 여성회 발전을 위해 묵묵히 헌신해 온 임원 및 회원들에게 공로패와 감사패를 수여하는 시간도 마련돼 의미를 더했다.
앞으로 경기도재향군인회 여성회는 신임 송진화 회장을 중심으로 지역사회 밀착형 봉사활동 확대, 세대 간 안보 의식 확산, 여성 회원 권익 신장 등 다양한 분야에서 활동을 이어갈 계획이다.
행사에 참석한 한 관계자는 “전임 회장의 헌신이 든든한 기반이 된 만큼, 신임 회장을 중심으로 여성회가 한 단계 더 도약하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
