대전광역시교육청이 급증하는 이주 배경 학생들에 대한 이해를 높이고 학교 현장의 맞춤형 교육 체계를 공고히 하기 위해 학교장 대상 역량 강화 연수를 실시했다.
대전시교육청은 3일 대전대학교 혜화문화관에서 관내 초·중·고 및 특수학교장 300여 명을 대상으로 ‘2026학년도 다문화 교육 학교 관리자 역량 강화 연수’를 진행했다고 밝혔다.
이번 연수는 학교 관리자의 다문화 수용성을 높여 모든 학생이 차별 없이 교육받을 수 있는 환경을 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.
교육청은 학교급별로 서로 다른 교육 환경을 고려해 오전(초등·특수)과 오후(중·고) 세션으로 나누어 운영함으로써 연수의 실효성을 더했다.
특강 강사진은 ‘학교장이 알아야 할 다문화 교육의 실제’를 주제로 급변하는 교육 현장의 정책 방향을 공유했다. 특히 이주 배경 학생들의 학교 적응을 돕기 위해 관리자가 실천해야 할 구체적인 역할과 리더십에 대해 깊이 있는 논의가 이뤄졌다.
이와 함께 시 교육청은 현재 동·서부 다문화교육센터와 협력해 추진 중인 주요 사업들을 소개하며 학교 현장의 적극적인 활용을 당부했다.
대표적인 사업으로는 중도 입국 학생들을 위한 ‘찾아가는 한국어 교육 지원’과 학부모 상담 및 가정통신문 전달을 돕는 ‘통·번역 서비스’ 등이 언급됐다.
