대전광역시교육청이 미래 과학 인재 양성을 위한 ‘2026 노벨과학 꿈키움 프로젝트’의 안정적인 정착과 학교 현장 밀착 지원을 위해 전방위적인 지원 사격에 나섰다.
대전시교육청은 지난 3월부터 4월 초까지 ‘노벨 과학교육 지원단 협의회’를 시작으로 ‘노벨 탐구 활동 학교 지원 설명회’, ‘노벨 꿈키움 과학실 구축·운영 설명회’를 잇따라 개최하며 프로젝트의 본격적인 가동을 알렸다.
먼저 프로젝트의 핵심 동력인 ‘노벨 과학교육 지원단’이 활동을 시작했다. 초·중·고 교원 25명으로 구성된 지원단은 지난달 23일 협의회를 열고 올해 현장 지원 방향과 주요 추진 과제를 확정했다. 이들은 풍부한 운영 경험을 바탕으로 각 학교의 과학교육 활동을 돕는 멘토 역할을 수행하게 된다.
학생들의 과학적 호기심을 자극할 ‘노벨 탐구 활동 학교 지원’ 사업도 속도를 낸다. 대덕연구개발특구의 우수한 인프라와 연계해 기초과학 중심의 탐구·체험 프로그램을 제공하는 이 사업에는 올해 초·중·고 및 특수학교 등 총 62개교가 참여한다.
대전시교육청은 지난 1일 설명회를 통해 특구 연계 프로그램 자료를 공유하고, 지원단과 대상 학교 간 1:1 맞춤형 컨설팅을 진행해 사업의 실효성을 높였다.
미래형 과학 수업의 산실이 될 ‘노벨 꿈키움 과학실’ 구축 사업도 확대된다.
지난해부터 시작된 이 사업은 올해 초등 16교, 중등 20교, 고등·특수 12교 등 총 48개교를 대상으로 추진된다. 지난 2일 열린 설명회에서는 실제 과학실 구축 사례와 운영 노하우가 공유되어 일선 학교의 시행착오를 줄이는 데 주력했다.

The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education has launched a comprehensive support effort to ensure the stable establishment and close on-site support of the ‘2026 Nobel Science Dream Cultivation Project,’ designed to foster future scientific talent.

The project to establish the ‘Nobel Dream Cultivation Science Lab,’ which will serve as a cradle for future-oriented science classes, is also being expanded.
This project, which began last year, is being implemented this year targeting a total of 48 schools, including 16 elementary schools, 20 middle schools, and 12 high and special schools. At the information session held on the 2nd, actual cases of science lab construction and operational know-how were shared, focusing on minimizing trial and error for schools on the front lines.
