【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북개발공사가 지역이 품고 있는 세계적 문화유산 ‘직지’의 가치를 지키고 확산하기 위한 의미 있는 행보에 나섰다.
공사는 4월 3일, (사)세계직지문화협회를 방문해 직지 문화 가치 확산과 세계기록유산 보존 지원을 위한 기부금 5백만 원을 기탁 했다.
이번 기부는 지역 대표 문화유산인 ‘직지’의 가치를 보존하고 확산함으로써, 지역의 정체성과 브랜드 경쟁력을 강화하고자 하는 공공기관의 역할을 실천하기 위해 추진됐다.
이날 기탁식은 김순구 충북개발공사 사장과 김성수 (사)세계직지문화협회 회장, 그리고 양 기관 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 진행됐으며, 직지의 세계적 가치와 보존 필요성에 대한 공감대를 바탕으로 향후 협력 방안에 대해서도 논의가 이뤄졌다.
앞서 충북개발공사는 지난 2월 27일, (사)세계직지문화협회와 ‘직지의 뜰’에서 업무협약(MOU)을 체결하며 직지 문화 가치 확산과 지역사회 발전을 위한 협력 기반을 구축한 바 있으며, 이번 기부는 그 연장선에서 추진됐다.
김순구 충북개발공사 사장은 “직지는 우리 지역을 대표하는 세계적인 문화유산으로 충북개발공사가 청주권역에서 시행하는 산업단지의 명칭에 ‘직지’를 사용할 수 있도록 실무협의를 진행해 나가겠다.”라고 말했다.
김성수 (사)세계직지문화협회 회장은 “충북개발공사와의 지속적인 협력을 통해 직지의 문화적 가치를 더욱 널리 확산해 나가겠다.”라며, “이번 기부가 직지 보존과 가치 확산에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.”라고 말했다.
한편, 충북개발공사는 지역사회와의 상생을 바탕으로 문화예술 및 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 추진하고 있다.

On April 3, the Corporation visited the World Jikji Culture Association and donated 5 million won to support the dissemination of Jikji’s cultural value and the preservation of this World Memory Heritage.
