【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주시 상수도사업본부는 청주테크노폴리스 일반산업단지 내 건설 예정인 인공지능(AI) 반도체용 첨단 패키징 공장(P&T7)에 공업용수를 공급하기 위한 ‘SK하이닉스 추가공장(P&T7) 공업용수 공급사업(4단계)’을 본격 착공한다고 6일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 SK하이닉스 신규공장(M15·M15X)에 하루 15만9천㎥의 공업용수를 공급하는 기존 2·3단계 사업과 연계된 4단계 사업으로, 총 278억원(원인자부담금 100%)이 투입된다.
시는 2027년 6월까지 하루 11만㎥의 공업용수를 안정적으로 공급하기 위해 길이 2.4km, 관경 1,100~1,500㎜ 규모의 배수관로를 매설할 계획이다.
시 관계자는 “SK하이닉스가 AI 반도체 수요 증가에 선제적으로 대응하기 위해 공장 부지와 공업용수 공급 여건을 종합적으로 검토한 결과, 청주시를 최적의 입지로 판단한 것으로 보인다”며 “시는 2027년까지 안정적인 공업용수 공급이 가능한 실행계획을 신속하고 정확하게 제시해 투자를 유치할 수 있었다”고 설명했다.
한편, 청주시는 2024년 기준 하루 44만 6,705㎥ 규모의 상수도 공급능력을 보유해 전국 7위 수준의 인프라를 갖추고 있으며, 이는 첨단 산업 유치에 중요한 기반으로 작용하고 있다.
