‘버팀이음 프로젝트’ 미신청자 구제 위해 기한 늘려…
1인당 50만 원 서산 지역화폐 지급 중…

충남도가 서산 석유화학 산업의 불황으로 고용 불안을 겪고 있는 위기 근로자를 돕기 위한 ‘버팀이음 프로젝트’ 지원금 신청 기간을 오는 4월 17일까지 연장한다고 7일 밝혔다.
이번 조치는 생업 등으로 인해 제때 신청하지 못한 일용근로자 1,500여 명과 이·전직자 430여 명 등 미신청자들을 구제하기 위해 결정됐다.
충남도에 따르면 지난달 17일부터 31일까지 진행된 1차 접수 결과, 당초 예상 인원인 5,350명의 68% 수준인 3,627명이 신청을 마쳤다.
분야별로는 화물 운송 종사자가 계획 인원(600명)을 상회하는 666명(111%)이 접수해 높은 수요를 보인 반면, 건설 및 플랜트 분야 일용근로자는 계획 대비 67% 수준인 2,929명이 신청한 것으로 나타났다.
충남도는 신청자를 대상으로 적격 심사를 진행해 지난 3일부터 순차적으로 지원금을 지급하고 있다. 선정된 근로자에게는 1인당 50만 원이 서산시 모바일 지역화폐(지역상품권)로 지급된다.
지원을 희망하는 근로자는 대산보건지소를 직접 방문하거나 온라인 플랫폼인 ‘충남버팀이음 누리집’을 통해 신청하면 된다.
안호 도 산업경제실장은 “이번 사업은 숙련 인력의 이탈을 막는 일자리 이음과 취약 근로자의 생계를 지키는 생활 버팀을 결합한 통합 모델”이라며 “정보를 몰라 지원받지 못하는 사례가 없도록 대상자 발굴에 행정력을 집중하겠다”고 밝혔다.
