경기도의회 도시환경위원회 김옥순 의원(더불어민주당, 비례)이 의왕 미래교육센터 착공식에 참석해 사업 추진에 대한 기대를 밝혔다.
김옥순 의원은 지난달 31일 의왕시 내손동 일원에서 열린 착공식에 참석해 사업 착공을 축하하고 성공적인 준공을 기원했다.
의왕 미래교육센터는 지하 2층, 지상 4층 규모로 조성되며 총사업비 473억 원이 투입된다. 2028년 상반기 준공을 목표로 추진될 예정이다.
센터에는 인공지능(AI) 기반 교육시설을 비롯해 로봇 교육실, 드론 체험장, 진로체험관 등이 들어설 계획으로, 지역 청소년들이 미래 산업을 체험하고 학습할 수 있는 교육 공간으로 활용될 전망이다.
김옥순 의원은 “미래교육센터는 인공지능, 로봇, 드론 등 핵심 기술을 직접 체험할 수 있는 공간으로, 청소년들이 변화하는 산업 환경에 대응할 수 있는 역량을 키우는 데 중요한 역할을 할 것”이라며 “지역을 대표하는 미래 인재 양성 거점으로 자리매김하길 기대한다”고 말했다.
이어 “청소년 교육 기회 확대와 첨단 교육 인프라 확충을 위해 지속적인 관심과 지원을 이어가겠다”며 “사업이 차질 없이 추진돼 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 교육 환경이 조성되도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Kim Ok-soon, a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly’s Urban Environment Committee (Democratic Party of Korea, Proportional Representation), attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Uiwang Future Education Center and expressed her expectations for the project's progress.
Assembly Member Kim attended the ceremony held in Naeson-dong, Uiwang-si on the 31st of last month to celebrate the start of construction and wish for a successful completion.
The Uiwang Future Education Center will be constructed with two underground floors and four above-ground floors, with a total project cost of 47.3 billion won. The project is scheduled to proceed with the goal of completion in the first half of 2028.
The center is planned to house AI-based educational facilities, as well as robot training rooms, a drone experience zone, and a career experience hall. It is expected to be utilized as an educational space where local youth can experience and learn about future industries.
