권 시장은 이날 오전 11시 30분 예비후보 등록을 마친 뒤 “지난 4년간 새벽부터 밤늦게까지 시민 곁을 지키며 약 20만㎞를 이동해 현장을 누비고 중앙부처를 찾아다녔다”며 “그 결과 전국 최초 지방시대 3대 특구(문화·교육·기회발전) 달성과 역대 최대 규모인 2조 3,780억 원 예산 확보, 중앙선 KTX 서울역 연장 개통 등 의미 있는 성과를 이뤄냈다”고 밝혔다.

권 시장은 향후 안동의 미래 비전으로 ▲안동바이오생명 국가산업단지 조기 완공 ▲국립의과대학 유치를 통한 북부권 의료거점 구축 ▲‘청년 천원 주택 100호’ 공급 ▲‘반값 수돗물’ 유지 및 전 시민 전기료 감면 등 민생 중심 공약을 제시했다.
