가평군 청평면은 최근 심오암 측이 관내 취약계층을 위해 써달라며 10kg들이 백미 20포를 청평면 행정복지센터에 기탁했다고 8일 밝혔다.
이번 쌀 기탁은 지속적인 경기 침체로 인해 그 어느 때보다 힘든 일상을 보내고 있는 지역 내 어려운 이웃들에게 실질적인 보탬이 되고자 마련됐다.
심오암 주지 해각스님은 "오늘 전달된 쌀이 비록 작은 정성일지라도, 지역의 어려운 이웃들에게 조금이나마 위로와 힘이 되기를 바라는 마음"이라며, "앞으로도 단발성 기부에 그치지 않고, 지역사회와 상생하며 자비의 나눔을 꾸준히 실천해 나가겠다"고 뜻을 전했다.
이에 박성규 청평면장은 "모두가 경제적으로 어려운 시기임에도 불구하고 지역사회를 위해 따뜻한 나눔을 앞장서 실천해 주신 심오암에 깊은 감사의 말씀을 드린다"며, "기탁해 주신 귀한 쌀은 기부자의 따뜻한 마음을 담아 관내에 도움이 꼭 필요한 저소득 이웃들에게 정성껏 전달하겠다"고 화답했다.
