(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 8일과 15일 양일간, 초등 교원의 교수·학습 전문성을 강화하고 ‘쉬운 수학, 즐거운 수학’교육 환경을 조성하기 위해, 관내 초등 교원 100여 명을 대상으로 을 개최한다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 워크숍은 인천시교육청이 경인교육대학교 수학교육문화연구원과 함께 개발한 교구를 활용해, 참여자들이 추상적인 수학 원리를 조작 활동으로 구현할 수 있도록 돕기 위해 마련했다.
연수는 교구 개발에 참여한 전문 강사진이 현장의 생생한 교수·학습 노하우를 공유하고, 참가 교사들은 실제 수업 현장에서 활용 가능한 원리 탐구 방법과 학생별 수준에 맞춘 심화·보충 지도법을 실습하며 역량을 쌓게 된다.
인천시교육청은 연수 참여 교사들의 학급에 학생용 교구·교재와 교사용 지도서를 보급하여, 교실 안에서 학생 중심의 탐구 활동 활성화와 함께 수학교육 현장 연구의 실천 동기를 부여할 것으로 기대한다.
인천시교육청 관계자는 “수학은 단순히 공식을 외우는 것이 아니라 원리를 만지고 느끼며 이해하는 과정이 중요하다”며 “선생님들의 전문성 강화를 통해 모든 학생이 수학의 재미를 느끼고 꿈을 펼칠 수 있는 ‘인천형 수학교육’을 실현하겠다”고 말했다.

또한, 인천시교육청이 오는 11월까지 유아의 인성 및 시민성 함양을 위한 ‘세대공감 향교 체험 프로그램’을 운영한다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 프로그램은 유치원 3~5세의 유아가 인천향교와 강화향교를 방문해 우리 전통문화를 오감으로 체험하며, 예절과 공동체의 가치를 자연스럽게 익힐 수 있도록 기획했다.
향교와의 협약으로 진행되는 이번 프로그램은 유치원 단체 체험과 가족 중심 체험으로 나뉘어 운영된다.
총 32개원, 약 1,400명의 유아와 가족이 참여해 지역 내 전통문화 자원을 활용한 체험 중심 교육을 경험하게 된다.
인천시교육청은 앞으로도 지역사회와 연계한 체험 중심 유아 인성교육 프로그램을 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
