브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자가 이달 8일부터 ‘갤럭시 XR’ 대상으로 ‘안드로이드 XR’ 운영체제(OS)소프트웨어 업데이트를 진행한다.
‘안드로이드 XR’은 삼성전자와 구글이 공동 설계한 확장현실(XR) 전용 플랫폼이다.
이번 업데이트를 통해 안드로이드 기기를 위한 기업용 관리·제어 시스템인 ‘안드로이드 엔터프라이즈(Android Enterprise)’ XR버전이 ‘갤럭시 XR’에 최초로 적용된다.
이 시스템을 통해 기업은 복잡한 설정 없이 기기를 쉽고 빠르게 세팅할 수 있는 안드로이드 제로터치(Android Zero-touch) 등록, QR코드 인식 등 다양한 초기 설정 방식을 활용할 수 있다. 이를 통해 수십, 수백 대의 ‘갤럭시 XR’ 기기를 쉽고 빠르게 세팅하고 관리할 수 있다

사용자가 새롭고 편리한 기능을 미리 체험해볼 수 있는 ‘실험실’에 추가되는 ‘오토 스페셜라이제이션(Auto Spatialization)’ 기능은 크롬 브라우저와 유튜브의 2D 콘텐츠를 3D 몰입형 영상 및 사진으로 변환해 실감나는 감상을 지원한다.

한편, 삼성전자는 순차적으로 진행되는 이번 업데이트를 시작으로최대 5년까지 안드로이드 XR 플랫폼 소프트웨어 업데이트를 지원할 예정이다.
