(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구가 지난 8일, 오는 7월 출범을 앞둔 검단구 본예산 편성을 위해 지난 8일 마전동행정복지센터에서 직원을 대상으로 ‘행정체제 개편에 따른 검단구 본예산 편성 교육’을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
서구에 따르면, 이번 교육은 검단구 출범 이후 행정 공백을 최소화하고 한정된 예산을 효율적으로 배분하기 위해 실무 역량 강화에 초점을 맞춰 추진됐다.
특히, 검단구는 기존과 달리 예산 구조와 사업체계를 새롭게 설계해야 하는 만큼, 이번 교육은 예산의 정의와 편성원칙부터 행정체제 개편 대응 검단구 예산 편성 입력방법, 검단구 예산편성 시 유의사항 등 실무적인 내용으로 구성됐다.
아울러, 재정 여건이 제한적인 출범 초기 상황을 고려해 정책의 우선순위 설정이 중요한 상황임을 설명하고, 합리적 기준에 따른 예산 분리를 위한 서구와의 협업도 강조됐다.
이석원 검단기획행정국장은 “이번 본예산은 향후 검단구의 미래를 결정짓는 매우 중요한 출발점”이라며 “안정적인 검단구 재정 운용을 할 수 있도록 출범 예산부터 체계적이고 책임 있는 예산을 편성하도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 검단구 본예산은 4월 13일부터 각 부서의 예산 요구를 받고 실무심사를 거쳐 2026년 7월 1일 검단구 의회 의결을 통해 확정될 예정이다.

또한, 인천 서구가 행정안전부 주관 ‘안전한 통학로 조성사업’에 선정되어 사업 추진을 위한 특별교부세 9.5억 원을 확보했다고 밝혔다.
서구에 따르면, 이번 사업에는 학교 주변 이면도로의 일방통행 지정, 보도 신설 및 안전시설물 보강 등 내용이 포함되며, 이를 통해 통학로 보행 안전과 환경이 취약한 구간을 대대적으로 개선한다.
사업대상지는 석남초, 신현북초, 검암초, 가좌초 등 관내 4개 초등학교 주변으로, 금회 통학로 조성사업에 선정된 인천시 4개 기초자치단체 중 최대 규모의 예산을 확보한 상황이다.
이에 따라 서구는 총 9.5억원의 사업비를 투입하여 총연장 1,530m 구간에 폭 1.5m의 안전한 통학로를 조성할 계획이다.
특히, 차량방호울타리 등 안전시설물을 설치하고 보차도가 분리되지 않은 통학로를 정비하여 교통사고 위험을 사전에 차단할 방침이다.
