충남 천안시가 시내버스 도착 정보의 부정확함을 해결하고 시민들의 대중교통 이용 편의를 획기적으로 개선하기 위해 ‘초정밀 버스정보시스템(BIS) 구축’에 나섰다.
천안시는 9일 시청 중회의실에서 김석필 천안시장 권한대행 부시장을 비롯해 시의회 관계자와 시내버스 3사 대표 등 18명이 참석한 가운데 ‘초정밀 버스정보시스템(BIS) 구축사업 실시설계 용역 착수보고회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 기존 버스정보시스템의 기술적 한계를 극복하고 정보의 신뢰도를 높이기 위해 마련됐다. 핵심은 위성항법시스템(GNSS) 등을 활용한 초정밀 위치정보 기반 기술을 적용하는 것이다.
이를 통해 버스의 실시간 위치를 더욱 세밀하게 파악함으로써 정류장 도착 안내 시간의 오차를 최소화하고, 시민들이 실제 버스 위치를 체감할 수 있는 정확한 정보를 제공하는 것이 목표다.
천안시는 이번 실시설계 용역을 통해 구체적인 시스템 고도화 방안을 수립할 계획이다. 주요 과업으로는 버스 위치정보의 정밀도 향상 ,도착 예정 시간의 정확도 개선 ,시민 체감형 ‘버스스탑’ 서비스 확대 ,노후 시스템 기능 개편 등이 포함됐다.
