[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시는 9일 ‘실감나는 밀양’ 건설을 위해 주요 현안 사업 및 도시 기반 시설 조성 사업의 추진 현황 점검에 나섰다.
이번 현장 방문은 2026년 시정 슬로건인 ‘기회와 활력, 실감나는 밀양’ 구현을 위한 현장 중심 행정의 일환으로 추진됐다.
안병구 시장을 비롯한 관련 부서장들은 시의 대표 관문인 밀양역 재건축 현장을 방문해 공사 현황을 면밀히 살폈다.
밀양역 재건축은 한국철도공사가 총사업비 267억원을 투입해 지상 3층, 연면적 3,426㎡ 규모의 역사를 신축하는 사업으로, 2027년 4월 최종 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.
안 시장은 “밀양역은 우리 시의 얼굴이자 관문인 만큼, 이용객들의 불편을 최소화하고 계획된 일정대로 준공될 수 있도록 최선을 다해달라”고 당부했다.
이어 방문한 삼문동 제2어린이공원 조성 현장은 밀양 최대 상권이자 주거 밀집 지역인 삼문동 중심부의 유휴지를 시민 휴식 공간으로 탈바꿈시키는 사업이다.
기존의 도심 공터(1,600㎡)에 석가산, 수경시설, 야외무대, 어린이 놀이시설, 만남의 광장 등을 조성하고 있으며, 현재 공정률 70%로 수목 식재와 시설물 설치 등 막바지 공사가 한창이다.
밀양시는 앞으로도 주요 사업 현장을 수시로 점검하여 사업 추진 과정의 문제점을 사전에 해결하고, 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 현장 중심의 행정을 지속적으로 펼쳐 나갈 계획이다.
