춘천시는 10일 강원특별자치도청 본청에서 강원도, ㈜쏘이마루와 함께 기업 이전 및 신축을 위한 3자 투자협약(MOU)을 전격 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 협약을 통해 경기도 남양주시에 소재한 식물성 콩단백 식품 제조기업 ㈜쏘이마루는 본사와 공장을 춘천 남춘천일반산업단지로 전면 이전하게 된다.
2012년 첫발을 뗀 ㈜쏘이마루는 전 세계적인 비건(Vegan) 및 웰빙 열풍에 힘입어 가파른 매출 성장을 기록 중인 대체육 전문 기업이다. 최근 미국과 캐나다 등 북미 시장 진출의 교두보를 마련한 데 이어, 국내 대형 유통망까지 섭렵하며 탄탄한 성장 가도를 달리고 있다.

㈜쏘이마루는 이번 춘천 이전을 위해 남춘천산업단지 내 4,768㎡ 부지에 연면적 2,755㎡ 규모의 첨단 본사 및 공장을 신축한다. 건축 및 기계장비 도입 등에 총 42억 원의 대규모 자금이 투입될 예정이며, 기존 인력 외에 신규 채용을 대폭 늘려 총 32명 규모로 사업장을 가동하게 된다.
시는 이번 강소기업 유치가 춘천시의 식품·바이오 산업 생태계 확장은 물론, 지역 내 양질의 일자리 창출에 든든한 마중물이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
