【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군은 교육발전특구 사업의 하나로 어린이 직업체험 프로그램 ‘찾아가는 키자니아’를 오는 4월 15일부터 17일까지 3일간 진천화랑관에서 개최한다고 밝혔다.
‘찾아가는 키자니아’는 직업체험 테마파크를 지역으로 옮겨 운영하는 체험형 교육 프로그램으로, 그동안 수도권 방문을 통해서만 가능했던 직업체험을 지역 어린이들이 가까운 곳에서 직접 경험할 수 있도록 마련됐다.
지난해 첫 운영에서 큰 호응을 얻은 데 이어 올해는 체험부스를 12개로 확대하고 운영 기간도 3일로 늘려 더 많은 어린이가 참여할 수 있도록 했다.
오전에는 초등학교 단체 프로그램을 운영하고, 오후 1시 이후에는 개인별 현장 접수를 통해 참여할 수 있다.
이번 행사는 진천·음성 교육발전특구가 지향하는 ‘지역이 설계하는 공교육 혁신 모델’의 대표 프로그램으로, 지역 내에서 양질의 진로·직업 체험 기회를 제공함으로써 수도권 중심 체험교육의 한계를 보완하고 교육격차 해소에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
김해경 군 교육청소년과 주무관은 “그동안 일부 지역에서만 가능했던 직업체험을 지역 어린이들이 가까이에서 경험할 수 있도록 준비했다”며 “교육발전특구 사업 3년 차를 맞아 그간의 성과를 바탕으로 사업을 더욱 내실 있게 추진하고, 지역이 주도하는 교육혁신 모델을 구체화해 아이들이 지역 안에서 배우고 성장할 수 있는 지속가능한 교육환경을 조성하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 군은 오는 7월 11일 진천화랑관에서 제2회 진천군 대학입시 설명회를 개최, 변화하는 입시제도에 대한 정보 제공과 맞춤형 진학 전략 안내를 통해 학생과 학부모의 진로·진학 지원을 강화할 계획이다.
