Los Angeles, CA – April 10, 2026 — The internationally acclaimed spiritual short film Prayer La Palma has won Best Drama Short at the FilmNest International Film Festival 2026, marking a significant milestone for the globally filmed Prayer International Series.

Directed by filmmaker Young Man Kang, Prayer La Palma (Episode 25 of the Prayer International Series) explores themes of faith, love, grief, and spiritual renewal against the vibrant cultural and religious backdrop of La Palma, Michoacán, Mexico. The film stood out among international submissions for its intimate storytelling, emotional depth, and contemplative visual language.
The story follows Ana, a woman who loses her home, her children, and her husband—but not her faith. From heartbreak to the agave fields, her prayer becomes the strength that transforms suffering into triumph.

The film stars Alma Castañeda and Oscar Davis, with supporting performances by Regina Dávila Manzo Gil, Miriam Castellanos, Axel Ramírez, Luis Gustavo Arceo, Raúl Castañeda Arceo, Janeth Cervantes Díaz, Marcela Muratalla, and Rogelio Castañeda Arceo—each bringing sincerity and emotional resonance to the story.
Prayer La Palma was written by Alma Castañeda, with music composed by Won Cheol Jeong (WCJ Music), enhancing the film’s reflective and spiritual atmosphere.
Produced by YMK Films, Prayer La Palma is part of the expanding Prayer International Series, a global collection of short films set in cities around the world, each centered on prayer as a moment of inner transformation. With this latest achievement, director Young Man Kang has now completed 36 episodes in the series.
Most recently, Kang released Prayer Madrid (Episode 36), the prequel chapter to the Prayer El Camino series, continuing the exploration of faith, inner struggle, and spiritual awakening along the historic pilgrimage route. Additional episodes are currently in development, following the journey across Bilbao, El Camino, Santiago, Porto, Lisbon, and Madrid.
The Prayer El Camino series (Parts 1–4) was recently selected for die Seriale 2026, a prestigious web series festival in Europe.

Kang is currently in pre-production on Prayer: Vincent van Gogh, with filming scheduled for mid-June in Provence, South of France.
