한국해양진흥공사, 해운산업 위기대응펀드 사업설명회 개최

[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 한국해양진흥공사가 국내 중소·중견선사의 경영 정상화와 ESG 경영 지원을 위해 조성한 ‘해운산업 위기대응펀드’ 설명회를 오는 15일과 16일 양일간 서울 여의도에서 개최한다.

한국해양진흥공사는 중동전쟁 여파와 금리 상승으로 경영 부담이 커진 국적 선사들의 위기를 선제적으로 방지하고 친환경 규제 대응을 돕기 위해 이번 설명회를 마련했다. 15일은 중견선사를 대상으로 여의도 이룸센터에서, 16일은 중소선사를 대상으로 여의도 FKI센터에서 각각 오후 2시 30분에 진행하며 참석 희망자는 담당자 전자우편을 통해 신청할 수 있다.

해운산업 위기대응펀드는 선사의 구조 개선을 지원하는 ‘해운산업 구조혁신펀드’와 녹색채권 등을 통해 ESG 경영을 돕는 ‘해운산업 ESG 지원펀드’로 구성된다. 이번 설명회에서는 구조혁신펀드의 지원 범위를 상세히 안내하고, 다음 달 예정된 ESG 지원펀드 공모 사업에 대한 사전 정보를 제공하여 국적 선사들의 적극적인 참여를 독려할 계획이다.

안병길 한국해양진흥공사 사장은 환경규제 강화와 대외 여건 악화로 자금 부담을 겪는 선사들을 위해 위기대응펀드를 통한 선제적 유동성 공급과 친환경 선박 지원에 최선을 다하겠다고 밝혔다.

The Korea Ocean Business Corporation (KOBC) will hold briefing sessions for the "Maritime Industry Crisis Response Fund" on the 15th and 16th of this month in Yeouido, Seoul, to support the management normalization and ESG management of domestic small and medium-sized shipping companies.

KOBC organized these sessions to preemptively prevent management risks for national shipping companies facing increased burdens due to the aftermath of the Middle East conflict and rising interest rates. The session for mid-sized companies will take place on the 15th at the Irum Center, while the session for small and medium-sized companies will be held on the 16th at the FKI Center, both starting at 2:30 PM. Interested parties can apply via email to the KOBC representative.

The Maritime Industry Crisis Response Fund consists of the "Maritime Industry Structural Innovation Fund," which supports structural improvements through preemptive restructuring, and the "Maritime Industry ESG Support Fund," which aids ESG management through the acquisition of green bonds and sustainability-linked bonds. At the briefing, KOBC will explain the support scope of the Structural Innovation Fund and provide advance notice for the ESG Support Fund public offering scheduled for next month to encourage active participation.

KOBC President Ahn Byung-gill stated that the financial burden on domestic shipping companies is increasing significantly due to strengthened environmental regulations and the impact of the Middle East conflict. He added that the corporation would provide preemptive liquidity support and assistance for eco-friendly vessels through the crisis response fund.
