<브레이크뉴스 포천 = 김형렬 기자> 포천시가 치매 환자와 가족이 안심하고 살아갈 수 있는 촘촘한 지역사회 돌봄망 구축에 팔을 걷어붙였다.
포천시 치매안심센터는 지난 13일 대한적십자사 포천지사 소속 봉사자들을 대상으로 치매에 대한 인식 개선과 올바른 이해를 돕기 위한 '치매파트너 플러스' 교육을 성공적으로 진행했다고 14일 밝혔다.
이번 교육은 지역사회 내 치매 친화적인 환경을 조성하고, 최일선에서 치매 환자를 마주하는 자원봉사자들의 실질적인 대응 역량을 높이기 위해 마련됐다. 교육 현장에서는 치매의 주요 증상과 원활한 의사소통 기법은 물론, '치매파트너 플러스'로서 봉사자가 현장에서 직접 수행할 수 있는 다양한 활동 가이드라인이 제시됐다.

특히 실제 현장에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 사례 중심의 맞춤형 교육이 병행되어 참석한 자원봉사자들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.
대한적십자사 포천지사 관계자는 "봉사자들이 이번 교육을 통해 치매에 대한 정확한 지식과 실전 대처법을 갖추게 되어 향후 지역 돌봄 활동에 큰 시너지가 날 것"이라며, "앞으로도 센터와의 지속적인 협력을 이어가겠다"고 전했다.
포천시 관계자 역시 "치매는 더 이상 개인과 가족만의 고통이 아닌, 지역사회 전체가 함께 짊어지고 해결해야 할 중대한 과제"라며, "이번 교육을 마중물 삼아 봉사자들이 치매 환자와 가족을 더욱 따뜻하게 품어주는 든든한 동반자로 거듭나길 바란다"고 강조했다.
