14일 속초시에 따르면, 시는 노후 시설 개선과 기후위기 대응을 위한 '공공건축물 그린리모델링' 사업에 19억 5,500만 원, 경로당 신축 및 이전 사업에 13억 5,000만 원, 기존 시설 기능 보강에 1억 2,600만 원을 각각 투입해 촘촘한 노인 복지 인프라를 구축하고 있다.
특히, 지난해 국토교통부 공모사업에 선정된 금호동과 대포동 경로당은 현재 본격적인 그린리모델링 공사가 진행 중이다. 이를 통해 노후 건축물의 에너지 효율을 극대화하고 실내 공기질을 개선하여, 탄소중립 실현은 물론 어르신들에게 최적의 친환경 공간을 제공할 것으로 기대된다. 또한, 내년도 사업 대상지로 낙점된 하도문 및 청대리 경로당 역시 현재 실시설계 용역이 순조롭게 추진되며 사업에 속도를 내고 있다.
